# Final capture

Mark an estimated authorisation as captured and automatically void the remaining balance.

Final captures can only be performed on estimated authorisations, as per scheme rules.

1. On the home screen, tap the icon in the top left to open the menu.
2. In the menu, tap **Estimated authorisation**.

3. Select the relevant transaction in the *Estimated auth history* list. You can use the filter to search by date, amount, card number, or reference.
4. On the *Estimated auth detail* screen, tap **Final capture**.

5. Tap **Yes** to confirm the customer's presence. If needed, you can increment or lower the amount, or update the reference.
6. Tap **Proceed** to continue.
7. If prompted, choose a currency.
8. Tap **Confirm**. The terminal processes the final capture. If the captured amount is less than the authorisation amount, then the remaining amount will be released automatically with a void.


Once approved, the transaction is completed and your merchant receipt is printed.
