# Refund

Perform a standalone refund.

## Perform a refund

1. On the home screen, tap the icon in the top left to open the menu.
2. In the menu, tap **Refunds**.

1. Tap **Start a refund**.
2. If prompted, enter the required PIN. [Learn more about refund restrictions and limits](/guides/pos/refund-restrictions).
3. Enter the refund amount, then tap **Refund** to continue.
4. Ask the customer to tap or insert their card. The terminal begins processing the refund.


Once the transaction is authorised, the refund is completed and a receipt is printed.
